KEA (Island) KYKLADES
The Fairy Tales Festival was born from the need to highlighting & disseminate the cultural treasures and takes place every summer at Kea island since 2003. George Evgenikos was the initiator of the festival, while the great Greek painter Alekos Fasianos has drawn its logotype.
So, every summer on July storytellers, charismatic narrators, musicians and artists from all over the world invite you to Kea for this extraordinary international festival, aiming to disseminate and to rescue the folk legends, the folklore and the traditions.
SIFNOS (Island) KYKLADES
The traditional wedding of Siphnos, with a prolonged ritual before
and after the ceremony, where leading roles, apart from the bride and the groom
are also held by the best man and the maid of honour. Characteristic are the two
'tacimia' (pairs) of musical instruments, played for two days and nights, the
'pasteli', a delicacy offered in rhomboid shapes, the bride's dance, led necessarily
by all the guests and the hundreds of improvised wishes in the form of poems heard
all day and all night.

at the village of Agios Georgios.

The Assumption is a major feast throughout the Greece and in Kea is celebrated with big festivals in Ioulis and in Panagia Kastriani monastery.
On August 15, there is a pilgrimage by the inhabitants and visitors of the island and a big feast, while many people visit also the monastery all year round.
