The Archaeological Collection of Neapolis was created before
World War II and within two years included around 1000 items, found mostly in
the area of Mirambello and in other sites of the Prefecture.
The collection includes:
The finds from the excavations of the French Archaeological School at Elounta,
Hellenika and Dreros.
The finds from the excavations of Emm. Mavroeidis at the Late Minoan tomb in Tourloti, near Seteia
and at the Hellenistic tomb in Kalo Chorio (ancient Istrona).
Antiquities collected by the Italian forces from Aghios Nikolaos
(ancient Lato pros Kamara) and other areas of the Prefecture.

Inscription in four lines, carved in boustrophedon on the naturally smoothed surface of the limestone (l. 0.90m., w. 0.25m.) but parts
of the inscribed surface are missing. Dated to the Archaic period (700-600 B.C.).
Inscription in four lines, carved in boustrophedon on a rectangular iron-stone (l. 0.88m., w. 0.24m.). The inscription is partly preserved in two pieces.
Dated to the Archaic period (7th-6th centuries B.C.).
Inscription in two lines, carved on the naturally smoothed surface of a rectangular limestone (l. 0.95m., w. 0.32m.). Dated to the Archaic period.
Bronze figurine of a bull (l. 0.12m., h. 0.09m.). It was found in the excavations of the French School of Archaeology at
Marble female statue (h. 1.25m. to the neck). The head, which was inset, and the right arm to the elbow are missing. The woman is dressed in long chiton and himation.
The statue was found by the Italian military forces.

Headless statue of a man from an unknown site in the Prefecture of Lasithi. The base bears the inscription "of Mousaios". The man is dressed in himation, leans the left hand
on a stele and brings the right before the chest. The rendering of the sandals is exquisite.
Marble headless female statue (h. 1.75m.) from the ancient city of Lato pros Kamara (modern Aghios Nikolaos). It stands on a base 0.40m. high. The figure is clad in long chiton
and multi-folded himation. The lower part of both arms is missing.
