The holy
monastery
of Evangelistria is one of the most remarkable monuments of North Sporades.
The remained parts of the monastery are the church, the semiruined cells of the
South wing, the Estia (fireside) and the furnace.
The church of the monastery is in the cross-in-square with dome. What
has remained from the frescoes dates to the 18th century.
The monastery preserves varioys articles such as icons, liturgical
vessels and so on, which will be exposed in the small museum of the monastery
when it opens.
Nowadays it is used as a monastery.
