Municipality of Velo

The Municipality of Velo was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 7 Municipal Districts, the former municipality of:
1. Velo-Nerantza
and the former communities of:
1. Ellinochorion,
2. Kokonion,
3. Krines,
4. Poulitsa,
5. Stimanga,
6. Tarsina.
Municipality seat is Velo, small town of Velo - Nerantza municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 8200 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
