Municipality of Megas Alexandros

The Municipality of Megas Alexandros was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 7 Municipal Districts, the former communities of:
1. Galatades,
2. Drosseron,
3. Liparon,
4. Karyotissa,
5. Palefyto,
6. Trifylion
and the settlement of:
1. Agios Georgios of the former community of Dafni.
Municipality seat is Galatades, small town of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 7972 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
