General Informations
Santorini Airport was built in 1972, according to traditional Cycladic architecture. It is the largest one of the southern Aegean Sea area and serves also military aircrafts.
It is located at the east-central part of the island. From the capital of Santorini, Fira town is just 6 km away, from the picturesque village of Oia, about 17 km, as from Akrotiri too.
Direct flights to/from Santorini Island National Airport are from Athens, Thessaloniki and Heraklion, while during the summer, many charter flights arrive from abroad.
The continuously increasing needs due to visitors’ growth led to the modernization of the small airport. So, the airport today can serve six aircraft at the same time, while is to be upgraded.
