The Municipality of Pinia was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 16 Municipal Districts, the former communities of:
1. Agnanta,
2. Agrapidochorion,
3. Anthon,
4. Avgi,
5. Velanidion,
6. Vouliagmeni,
7. Efyra,
8. Kambos,
9. Laganas,
10. Latas,
11. Loukas,
12. Mazarakion,
13. Inoi,
14. Rodia,
15. Simopoulon,
16. Skliva.
Municipality seat is Simopoulo, village of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 5221 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
