The Cultural Club of Karra organizes athletic events, in which the local schools participate. The children compete in track and cycling. After the end of the events, trophies are awarded for the performance of the students.
The night of the same day, along with the religious holiday of the metamorphosis of Chist, a fair follows. The participation of the people is big because of the hospitality of the village people. The menu includes delicious dishes and plenty of good wine. The feast is completed with Cretan music from local bands.

The day after Easter, the Mothiana-Skiafotou Cultural Club "the renewal", organises a meeting of the residents of the area and several visitors at the Table of Love.
Tables are spread with Easter dishes and red eggs. The locals offer lambs which they roast at the center of the square. After the attendees "clink" their eggs and begin eating, a feast follows with Cretan music. The attendance is big because the event is original for the area.

In the Province's headquarters, at Kolimvari, evening prayer takes place at the church of Gonia the eve of the Assumption. The icon of the Virgin Mary is carried about the village and a military party attributes honors. Vigil follows where the participation of the pilgrims is big. Pilgrims come from every corner of the province.
Also, the local taverns offer good wine and various dishes, there is also folk and Cretan music depending on the liking and the mood of the visitor. The feast goes on and the next day. Events like this give the opportunity to everyone to see authentic local dances and to enjoy themselves till morning.

In the Municipal apartment of Rodopou, every year on August 28th the eve of Saint John's day in the location of "Giona", evening prayer is realised in a picturesque chapel, which is 15km from the village towards cape Spatha. It is noteworthy to say that with the presence of many priests there are many group baptisms, as well as night liturgy. The attendance of the pilgrims begins early in the morning, until sunrise of the next day.
Along with the liturgies there is also a traditional feast with Cretan music. Visitors can enjoy the traditional dishes in the outdoor taverns.
On August 29th the football club of Rodopou closes the celebrational two-day with the organization of a fair in the village square. The good wine, plenty of dishes and Cretan Music from well-known artists call every visitor to enjoy themselves until the early morning hours.

Historical anniversary of the Battle of Tower of Voukolies (7-2-1897). The celebration is in the honour of capture of the tower of Voukolies by the local rebels and the military forces, that was sent to the island by the Greek Government for the liberation from the Turks. The Tower of Voukolies was one of the most powerful in the area and its capture was very helpful in the expansion of the revolution and the liberation of the wider area from the Turks. For the first time it was officially celebrated on 7-2-1999.
