The Municipality of Prespes was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 13 Municipal Districts, the former communities of
1. Agios Achillios,
2. Agios Germanos,
3. Adartikon,
4. Vroderon,
5. Kallithea,
6. Karyes,
7. Lemos,
8. Lefkon,
9. Mikrolimni,
10. Pissoderion,
11. Platy,
12. Prassinon,
13. Psarades.
Municipality seat is Lemos, village of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 1732 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
