The Municipality of Trigonon was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 13 Municipal Districts, the former communities of:

6. Ormenion,
7. Pentalofos,
8. Petrota,

Municipality seat is Dikea, small town of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 8706 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
VYSSA (Municipality) ORESTIADA
The Municipality of Vyssa was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 5 Municipal Districts, the former communities of:
1. Kavyli,
2. Kastanies,
3. Nea Vyssa,
4. Rizia,
5. Sterna.
Municipality seat is Nea Vyssa, small town of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 8968 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
