Municipality seat is Edessa, city of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 25051 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
SKYDRA (Municipality) EDESSA
The Municipality of Skydra was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 6 Municipal Districts, the former municipality of:
1. Skydra
and the former communities of:
1. Arsenion,
2. Aspron,
3. Dafni,
4. Kalyvia,
5. Petrea.
Municipality seat is Skydra, small town of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 15237 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
VEGORITIDA (Municipality) EDESSA
The Municipality of Vegoritida was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 5 Municipal Districts, the former communities of:
1. Agios Athanassios,
2. Arnissa,
3. Gramatikon,
4. Panagitsa,
5. Perea.
Municipality seat is Arnissa, small town of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 4073 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
