POLYGYROS (Municipality) HALKIDIKI
The Municipality of Polygyros was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 7 Municipal Districts, the former municipality of:
1. Polygyros
and the former communities of:
1. Agios Prodromos,
2. Vrastama,
3. Olynthos,
4. Paleokastron,
5. Sana,
6. Taxiarchis.
Municipality seat is Polygyros, small town of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 10278 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
