The Municipality of Kallikratia was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 4 Municipal Districts, the former municipality of:
1. Kallikratia
and the former communities of:
1. Lakoma,
2. Nea Gonia,
3. Nea Silata.
Municipality seat is Nea Kallikratia, small town of Kallikratia, municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 8931 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
