Municipality of Sperchiada

The Municipality of Sperchiada was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 22 Municipal Districts, the former municipality of:
1. Sperchiada
and the former communities of:
1. Agios Sostis,
2. Anatoli,
3. Argyria,
4. Gardikion,
5. Kallithea,
6. Kambia,
7. Kanalia,
8. Klonion,
9. Kolokythia,
10. Kyriakochorion,
11. Lefkas,
12. Marmara,
13. Messopotamia,
14. Nikolitsion,
15. Paleovracha,
16. Paleochorion Tymfristou,
17. Perivolion,
18. Pitsion,
19. Platanos,
20 Poungakia,
21. Fteri.
Municipality seat is Sperchiada, small town of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 8573 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
