The Municipality of Domokos was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 15 Municipal Districts, the former municipality of:
1. Domokos
and the former communities of:
1. Achladea,
2. Vouzion,
3. Karyes,
4. Lefka,
5. Makrolivadon,
6. Madassia,
7. Melitea,
8. Nea Makrissi,
9. Neochorion,
10. Palamas,
11. Petroton,
12. Polydendrion,
13. Pournarion,
14. Fyliadon.
Municipality seat is Domokos, small town of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 6289 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
THESSALIOTIDA (Municipality) DOMOKOS
The Municipality of Thessaliotida was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 8 Municipal Districts, the former communities of:
1. Agrapidia,
2. Vardali,
3. Velessiotes,
4. Gavrakia,
5. Ekara,
6. Thavmakon,
7. Neon Monastirion,
8. Sofiada.
Municipality seat is Neo Monastiri, small town of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 4264 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
XYNIADA (Municipality) DOMOKOS
The Municipality of Xyniada was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 8 Municipal Districts, the former communities of:
1. Agios Georgios,
2. Agios Stefanos,
3. Koromilea,
4. Makryrachi,
5. Xinias,
6. Omvriaki,
7. Panagia,
8. Perivolion.
Municipality seat is Omvriaki, small town of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 4482 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
