Municipality of Rion
The Municipality of Rion was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 12 Municipal Districts, the former communities of:
1. Agios Vassilios,
2. Akteon,
3. Ano Kastritsion,
4. Arachovitika,
5. Argyra,
6. Drepanon,
7. Kato Kastritsion,
8. Pititsa,
9. Platanion,
10. Rio,
11. Sela,
12. Psathopyrgos.
Municipality seat is Rio, small town of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 10280 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census
