FORTETSA (Settlement) HERAKLIO
The sixteenth century aqueduct was constructed by the Venetians to
bring water to Iraklion. This aqueduct also fed the Morosini Fountain in the Lions
Square. The Venice emblem can still be seen on the large supporting bridge over
the ravine.
