DIEFCHA (Village) CHIOS
  Near the old village of Diefha the late Byzantine Monastery of Moundon has been for many centuries very important in the history of Chios. The church of Saint John celebrates on August 29th and is fully decorated with beautiful paintings, 475 in total, dated back to 1750 AD.

Katavassi

KATAVASSI (Settlement) CHIOS
  Katavasi is a mall village on the main road from Chios to Volissos. It is built around the church of the Chian Saint Matrona (memory on October 20th) who was born in Volissos in the 13th or 14th century AD. Near the church cold spring water comes out in the shade of a huge platan.
