STRYMONIKOS GULF (Gulf) MAKEDONIA CENTRAL
Strymonicus sinus (Strumonikos kolpos, Strab. vii. p. 330), a bay lying between Macedonia and Thrace, on the E. side of the peninsula of Chalcidice (Ptol. iii. 13. § 9). It derived its name from the river Strymon, which fell into it. Now the gulf of Rendina.
