d.c. 344, feastday: October 17 (Catholic). Martyr of Persia. He was a pagan priest at Bethfarme. Converted to Christianity, he was stoned because of his faith and then drowned in a lake by Persian authorities.
d. 362, feastday: June 17 (Catholic). Persian Christian martyred with Sabel and Ismael by Emperor Julian the Apostate at Chalcedon. They were legates from Persia sent to negotiate peace who were slain when it was discovered they were Christians. A church was dedicated to them by Emperor Theodosius the Great.
d. 342, feastday: April 22 (Catholic). Martyred bishop of Persia with 21 companion bishops, 250 priests, as well as monks, nuns, and laypeople. King Shapur II conducted this dreadful martyrdom, which brought the Church in Persia to the verge of extinction.
