PORTARIA (Village) VOLOS
  The beautiful landscape in Pelion is ideal for alternative tourism, especially for walking. As you wander around the paths of Portaria you will feel captivated by the beauty and the variety of the surroundings.
  There are many cobbled and rural paths within and out of the village's limits routes through which the visitor meets traditional buildings, stone fountains and old chapels of historic importance.
  The most important is the "Centaurs' path", a route that runs parallel to the stream of the "Pigi Manas" spring. And if it happens you see trails of hooves, don't be surprised. Most likely a Centaur was there!
  The "Iason" path is also important, which has recently been renovated and sign posts have been placed by the Municipality of Portaria. It starts from the renovated rural house Lazou in Alli Meria and finishes at at Alikopetra just before Chania.
  The Municipality is planning shortly to organize guided tours by expert guides and in between periods of rest in specially planned spaces.
