Description

Xyla Beach

KORISSIA (Village) KEA
Before leaving Korissia for the island's inner country, a visit to Xyla is a must. The landscape is rough and barren. The solitary atmosphere, combined with the crystal clear sea, is rarely found elsewhere. Everything here is natural and unspoiled, inviting one to dive deep into the limpid sea.

Koundouros Beach

KOUNDOUROS (Settlement) KEA
16 km from Ioulis, on the southwestern part of the island, we find a succession of small, exotic beaches. The area offers a mooring for fishing boats or other small craft, seeking refuge from the meltemi.

Orkos Beach

ORKOS (Settlement) KEA
11,4 km east from Ioulida, this bay is exposed to the northeasterly wind, a harbinger of the Meltemi. In recent years, a holiday resort has developed on its rocky shore.

PISSES (Settlement) KEA
11,3 km from Ioulis,on the west side of the island, we find a serene seaside location. A few small boats are moored at the jetty. From here to the other side, the beach is just one long stretch of smooth sand.

SPATHI (Beach) KEA
A wide, sandy beach to the east of Ioulis at a distance of 14 km.

Gialiskari beach

GIALISKARI (Settlement) KEA
At 1 km from Korissia, one is pleasantly surprised by a small sandy beach known as "Gialiskari", screened by eucalyptus and salt trees ("armyrikia") which literally overshadow the road by their sheer height and thick foliage. Today, this is the favourite beach of the residents of Chora (Ioulis) for their daily summer swim.

Otzia Beach

OTZIAS (Settlement) KEA
On the northern part of the island, 5 km from Korissia, we find the green coast of Otzias, lined with salt trees which in places form veritable forests, and afford a shelter from the burning sand. The sandy beach of Otzias extends for about 700 meters to the far eastern end of the bay, where a small village stands, built on the rocks behind the picturesque chapel of Agios Sostis.
