1968-85: Born in Thessaloniki, he was raised in the Macedonian countryside,
where he began his musical studies (piano and theory). In the period between 1982
and 1985 he had composed around 20 works, strongly influenced by Beethoven, while
he manifested musicological interests and philosophical anxieties.
1985-92: Taking residence in Thessaloniki in 1985, he turned his attention
to his pianistic, musicotheoretical and musicological studies. In his philosophical
search, he landed both on Evangelos Moutsopoulos's work and the teachings of perennial
wisdom. He completed his musical studies with the highest distinctions at the
Schools of Advanced Theory and of Piano at the Macedonian Conservatory of Thessaloniki.
He also attended conducting seminars with Karolos Trikolidis at the Neon Conservatory
of Thessaloniki. In 1986 he was admitted at the School of Musical Studies at the
Aristotle University, where he followed a 5-year program in Musicology. His personal
involvement with the work of composer Nikos Astrinidis led to the submission of
a graduation thesis, one of the first thorough studies of the work of a Greek
composer. At the same time he contributed to the founding and served at the editorial
board of the magazine "Mousikotropies", where he published dozens of articles,
essays, book- and record reviews. Galvanized by John Williams' film music, he
resumed his compositional activity in 1990.
1992-96: Following his graduation from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki,
he embarked on a cycle of graduate studies in Musicology, first at the University
of Liverpool and then at King's College, University of London that earned him
two Master's degrees (M.Mus., 1995; M.Phil., 1996). 1996-: Since 1996
he has been studying, and since 1997 also has been teaching, at Stanford University
(USA), where he currently pursues a Ph.D. at the Department of Music. His distinctions
include scholarships and fellowships from the following institutions: Macedonian
Conservatory of Thessaloniki, Greek State Foundation of Scholarships, Rotary Club
of Thessaloniki, Greek Ministry of National Education and Religions, Onassis Foundation,
Academy of Athens, and Stanford University.
His compositions are deeply eclectic in their philosophy and influences,
unnegotiably tonal in their style, laconic and transparent in their structure,
and intensely dramatic in their character. Comprised mainly of characteristic
pieces for piano, they also include a suite for piano, a piano concerto, a pentagon
and many single songs as well as the one-act opera/musical "Pythagoras's Great
Decision" (text by Stavros Houliaras).

Evangelia Kikou was born in Thessaloniki οn 17/12/1965.
From 1983 until 1987 she completes her studies at the Department of
Chemistry of the University of Ioannina and at the same time she attends courses
of classic guitar. Her studies in music are continued with courses in piano, Harmony,
Counterpoint, Fugue and Composition in the class of Music Theory and Composition
of Christos Samaras at the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki, and in the Department
of Musicology of the School of Fine Arts at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
From 1998 she lives in Iowa (U.S.A.) working οn her Ph.D. in composition at the
University of Iowa.
She participated in several seminaries in classic guitar, piano, composition,
and electronic music in Greece and in Germany. The attendance of the seminar at
Darmstadt (Germany) in 1996 was an exceptional experience. She had the opportunity
to attend lessons with W.Rihm, B.Ferneyhough, K.Stockhausen, and many other composers
and theorists.
She has composed chamber music for small and great instrumental ensembles
as well as music for children theater. Some of her works have been presented in
concerts. Especially, the work "Antikatoptrismos" was approved between the finalists
at ALEA ΙΙΙ competition for young composers in 1995 and it was presented in Boston
by the conducting of Theodore Antoniou. Ιn 1998 the work "Impressions" for piano
was performed in Iowa at Greek Composers' Festival of Centre for New Music (April
1998) and at Midwest Composers' Symposium (November 1998.)
She taught Music Theory and Analysis at the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki
and the Filippos Nakas Conservatory in Thessaloniki and in Ioannina. Also, she
taught Counterpoint of l6th century and Counterpoint of l8th century in the Department
of Musicology of the School of Fine Arts at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
She is a member of the Union of Greek Composers.

He was born in Thessaloniki in 1941. For 34 years, he has been a professor
of Theology in the American College of Anatolia, and since his youth, First Chanter
of the Holy Church of Aghia Triada in Thessaloniki. After the premature loss of
Theodoros Papakonstantinou (1948-1969), creator and conductor of the Children's
Choir of Aghia Triada, V. Papakonstantinou took over the work of his brother.
Having as his only equipment the knowledge of Byzantine Music, he
worked with the children hardly and persistently, so the Choir managed to reach
a very high artistic level and started an international career.
Vasilis Papakonstantinou has conducted the choir of Anatolia College,
and several other school choirs; he has attended many choral seminars abroad,
and has taught in similar seminars in Greece.
He has been awarded many prizes and honorary diplomas for the total
of his offer.

Born in Thessaloniki, she was a member of the Children's Choir of
Aghia Triada.
She studied Monody with Varvara Tsambali, and, after her graduation,
she continued her studies in the Music Academy of Vienna,
with E. Carouso, E. Mathis, and C. Malm. She also has a degree in Harmony from
the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki.
In the period 1998-2001, she was soloist of the Dessau Theater in
Germany, where she performed
many important roles of the operatic repertory. She also appeared in several Opera
“Gala”, she gave recitals, and participated in the tour of the Dessau
Theater in Switzerland.
Cyranous Tsalikian has collaborated with the Vienna
Volksoper, the Athens Megaron,
the Greek National Opera and the Opera of Thessaloniki. She has appeared as soloist
with the Thessaloniki State Orchestra, the Municipal Orchestra of Thessaloniki,
and the Orchestra of the G.N.O. She has also participated in the “Demetria”
festival.
