The "Kaloktistos" wall
The site has not been excavated and there is not enough evidence available
concerning its history. The well-built ("kaloktistos") retaining wall, constructed
in the so-called Lesbian masonry is dated to the Archaic period. Today it is visible
up to the height of around ca.3 m.
The area was declared an archaeological site in 1960, 1991 and 1992,
and more specifically, the fortification wall was declared in 1964 and a group
of retaining walls near Kaloktistos, in 1962.
