Teuthrania
The name of the western part of Mysia about the river Caicus, which
was believed to be derived from an ancient Mysian king Tenthras. This king is
said to have adopted, as his son and successor, Telephus, a son of Heracles; and
Eurypylus, the son of Telephus, appears in the Odyssey as the ruler of the Ceteii.
(Strab. iii. p. 615; Hom. Od. x.520; )
In the district Teuthlania a town of the same name is mentioned as
situated between Elaea, Pitane, and Atarneus (Strab. l. c.; Steph. B. s. v.; Xelloph.
Hist. Gr. ii. 1. § 6), but no other particulars are known about it.
