Talares
The Talares, a Molossian tribe, a branch of those who lived in the neighborhood of Mount Tomarus, lived on Mount Pindus itself, as did also the Aethices, amongst whom, the poet says, the Centaurs were driven by Peirithous; but history now tells us that they are extinct.  Names of the inhabitants
Molossi
Molossi, (Molossoi). A people of Epirus, inhabiting a narrow strip of country, called after them Molossia or Molossis, which extended along the western bank of the Arachthus as far as the Ambracian Gulf. They were the most powerful people in Epirus, and their kings gradually extended their dominion over the whole of the country. The first of their kings, who took the title of King of Epirus, was the Alexander who perished in Italy B.C. 326. Their capital was Ambracia. The Molossian hounds were celebrated in antiquity.
